Grow a patch of wild country, one hexagon at a time, and fill it with animals. After 20 turns each, the highest score wins. In a solo game, beat your own best.
Your turn
- Pick a pair: one of the four tiles, with the animal below it.
- Place the tile touching your landscape. Turn it however you like.
- Place the animal on any of your tiles that shows that animal and has no animal yet, or release it back to the bag.
A tile with a single habitat and a gold ring is a haven: putting its animal there earns an acorn.
Acorns
- Spend 1 acorn to take any tile with any animal instead of a pair.
- Or spend 1 acorn to send any of the four animals back and redraw them.
- Each acorn left at the end is worth 1 point.
If all four animals are alike they are redrawn at once. If three are alike you may redraw those three once a turn, free.
Habitats
Five habitats: Pinewood, Meadow, Fen, Brook and Crag. For each one, your biggest connected area scores 1 point per tile. Tiles connect when their touching edges are the same habitat.
Biggest area bonuses. 2 players: the biggest area of each habitat gets +2 (a tie: +1 each). 3–4 players: +3 for the biggest and +1 for the second (a tie for biggest: +2 each and no second). Solo: +2 for any area of 7 tiles or more.
