Going first is a big advantage, so the second player may take the first stone instead of playing.
Board, first move and the swap rule apply from the next game.
Take turns placing one stone on any empty hexagon. Link your two edges with an unbroken chain of your own stones to win.
Amber links the top edge to the bottom edge. Indigo links the left edge to the right edge. Your edges are marked in your colour, and the corners belong to both players.
Stones never move and are never captured. Two stones are linked when they touch along a side; each hexagon touches six others.
The first unbroken chain wins, and it lights up. Hex can never be drawn: if the board ever filled up, one player would always have a chain.
Going first is a big advantage, so after the first stone the second player may take it instead of playing: the stone is mirrored across the board and becomes theirs. It's on by default and can be turned off in the ⋯ menu.
Amber stones carry a ring and Indigo stones a diamond, so they can be told apart by shape as well as colour. On the 13 × 13 board a first tap shows where the stone would go and a second tap places it.
